Over the past couple of decades the face of network marketing has changed. A new generation of leaders has emerged and will continue to emerge. The strategies and procedures for attracting new distributors and teaching them to duplicate your results have shifted. The Internet and social media has streamlined and automated the process of sending your message. It has expanded the market of prospects from the number of people one can physically speak to locally, to a vast and limitless global market.
Network marketing is certainly a dynamic and ever changing industry, however some characteristics of the industry will never change. This is and always will be a people business. Therefore people will only buy from people they like, trust and value as a respected leader. The Internet has automated this process once more through the use of the email auto-responder.
The content in your follow up messages that you send to your leads is even more important than the traffic source you used to acquire that lead. Building a relationship with a prospect via the Internet is an art and a very profitable skill if correctly applied. The relationship between the prospect and the distributor is just as important and necessary as it has always been in network marketing.
The process begins by giving value. Prove your leadership abilities by teaching them something of value at no cost, in exchange for the opportunity to present them with a low cost teaching tool. It becomes a constant exchange of useful information for the chance to introduce them to a product or service.
With the rise of social media the relationship does not need to end (and should not end) with email or the telephone. Invite them to follow you on Twitter, friend you on Facebook. Invite them to subscribe to your YouTube channel and your blog where you give even more value and further edify yourself as a leader. If you allow them into your world you become more, “real.” You become someone who is not just looking to get in their wallet, but a friend who is willing to help them.
Network marketing is, always has been, and always will be a people business. Build a solid relationship with your prospects and watch your results skyrocket. Go out of your way to help them. If you give enough people what they want, in return you will get what you want.
